David is a highly respected stone specialist with 30 years’ experience in the industry. He has held senior positions in leading consulting and research-based organisations and is past President of the Stone Federation GB, and is currently Chairman of the Technical and Sustainability committees. David is a Chartered Geologist with specialist knowledge of materials selection, testing, sustainability and ethical sourcing.
David has a strong background in geology which has earned him a place on British and European Standards committees for Natural Stone. In 2002, David became a member of the National Executive Committee for the Stone Federation of Great Britain and Chairman for the Stone Federation of Great Britain Technical Committee. In 2006 David became President of the Stone Federation of Great Britain a position which lasted for 2 years ending in November 2008.
